As one of the largest and founding pillars of Dire Dawa University, the College of Social Science and Humanities (CSSH) has evolved significantly since its inception in 2007 (1999 E.C).
What began with only four departments and 35 staff members has flourished into a diverse academic hub serving students across regular, summer, and extension programs.
We are particularly proud of our expansion into indigenous knowledge through programs like Journalism, Sociology, and Civics.
Furthermore, we foster academic discourse through our open-access publication, the Harla Journal of Social Behavioral Studies (HJSBS).
