The DDU Library Service Directorate is accountable to the Academic Vice President's Office and is structured into four key sections — providing centralized, quality-driven information services to all students, researchers, and academic staff. The libraries operate 24/7 across three branches: Main Library, FBE Library, and Central Library.

Library Users Service

Oversees the development and implementation of all information services across branch libraries. Coordinates user instruction programs, staff training needs, and ensures quality frontline services at every level.

Digital Library & Automation Service

Manages ICT-driven library systems including the digital library, institutional repository, e-books, e-journals, research intelligence tools, and the plagiarism detection system (Turnitin) for the entire university community.

Technical Processing Service

Coordinates all collection development, cataloguing, classification, and acquisition activities. Serves as a liaison between acquisition and cataloging teams to ensure cost-effective, timely access to information resources.

Documentation & Ethiopian Collection

Archives and provides access to historical documents including Ethiopian and African reports, periodicals, newspapers, magazines, DDU research outputs, theses, and reference publications.
